CHRISTIAN ANDREW GROOMS

Christian Andrew Grooms was born in Madison Wisconsin in 1971 and currently lives and works in New York City. He received his BFA from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis / St. Paul, and his MFA from Parsons School of Design, New School University, New York, NY.

During the four years between his undergraduate studies and graduate school, Grooms worked as an audio engineer at Minnesota Public Radio and as a freelance engineer / producer for independent record labels.  Grooms continues to compose, perform and produce music that impacts his visual art. 

Grooms is a painter, illustrator, graphic designer, musician, audio engineer, and audio producer, working primarily with acrylics, oils and digital media.  He continues to study traditional printmaking with Andrew Balkin when in Madison, WI and Scott Davidson in New York City.
